Served as an active technical administrator in development for daily tasks of FileNet system from CRISP, upgrades, and problem resolutions. Designed, installed, and configured P8 environment; completed 10TB+ of data migrations. Managed 40TB+ of active client data and delivered customized client solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills and provided front-line support to all clients.
Key Project Accomplishments
Required new standards and technologies at the VA, transitioned database from Oracle Solaris to Oracle Linux, which caused an ongoing issue for data, also all data needed to be encrypted on all server platforms. Changed Linux servers from RedHat 5 to RedHat 7 and needed to upgrade to new servers. Current servers had a total of 48TB of data.
Met all the requirements of VA with single solution to extract all data and import back into a customized system. Fixed data issue and all the new data going into the server file-system encrypted.
Wrote two custom C# applications which allowed extraction of meta data from Oracle database and split an XML.
Enabled 2nd application into splitting the large XML file into bite size chunks allowing the vendors tool to read, export, and import data. Did not want to have to create a custom import and worry about performance or data loss.
Automated extraction and import of documents through batch scripts. Process took about six months, migrated 48TB+ of data and 60M records. The in-house project saved the LGY project $100K+.
Updated latest new version of FileNet P8. Migrated all documents from old legacy system called Content Services.
Designed and installed new P8 system to meet needs of the LGY project. After design and installation completed transferred 10M records and 16TB of data into new system.
Created customized application that extracted all the data from the old legacy system which included versions and annotations and loaded them into new P8 environment. The whole process from design, install, write, test, and migration took about a year. Saved client $100K+ (Each time migration project completed) and able to do this along with current daily job of administering the FileNet System.
Completed key milestones in migration of IBM Content Manager data into FileNet P8. Designed and coded client solutions to meet project goals and cooperated with cross-functional teams to develop global FileNet solution spanning three continents.
Key Project Accomplishments
Upgraded key client, CCE, off legacy FileNet IS system and required a globally available FileNet P8 repository; streamlined and automated into a paperless centric platform system. Verified before and after performance results; improved processing.
Collaborated with team of FileNet engineers to come up with design that would handle the load of three major regions, globally and still allow access to documents outside of targeted region. Also partnered with Kofax programmer to automate most of the Kofax ingestion of documents coming from handheld devices and manual scanning.
Transferred all the data from three main FileNet IS systems and upgraded into new P8 repository with a total of nine servers in three countries processed all documents retrieved daily, which serviced 1M+ documents per day.
Completed the automation of Kofax ingestion process and reduced load of Scan and Index personnel by 60%.
Planned with more key clients, TD Bank & Boston Scientific, and operated as part of a team to design, build, implement, and migrate data sources from older document repositories to new version of FileNet P8.
Partnered to find out how use the new system, defined limitations of old systems, and determined project goals.
Gathered requirements for projects, developed technical design, implemented project, and worked with team of developers to develop migration apps necessary to perform project completion.
Migrated 15M+ documents containing 18TB of data and transitioned 22M+ documents and 30TB of data per client.
First-line FileNet Technical Support for clients: Texas Bankers Bank, Bank of Oklahoma, and First Tennessee Mortgage. Responsible for all patches, upgrades and other issues the clients might have. Developed custom applications for Kofax and FileNet Capture specific to the client's needs.
Stream lined Kofax capture solution to allow electronic transfer of invoices from hand held devices. Designed the consolidation of three FileNet Image Manager servers in different geographical locations into one centrally managed server.
Redesigned Kofax environment to allow for enterprise level growth.
Wrote custom Kofax Workflow to allow for automated indexing of documents which increased document output.
Provided Technical support for both FileNet and Kofax servers.
Designed and implemented a Kofax scanning solution that was pushed out throughout all the offices in the state of Texas. The Kofax solution was able to save TFB time and money by not having to send all the paper documents to the local office to have them scanned for use and storage. The solution allowed TFB regional offices to print out scan header sheets with all the required information in barcode format and fax them into the central office. From there the Kofax server ingested the documents, read the barcodes, retrieved additional information from the database and insert it into the Mobius document management system.
It took several designs and applications in order to meet the requirements which included: website, barcode/patch coding, Kofax workflow scripts, and Kofax validation scripts. Only batches that had errors did people need to see, and then it was only the documents that had issues.
Provided daily support to the FileNet and Kofax servers, which processed at a peak of over 5 million images in a day, including patching and upgrades of both servers.
Created custom application which was pushed out to every workstation in the enterprise to allow them to create custom header sheets which contained multiple types of barcodes. The custom application was able to print out the following types of bar codes: CODE 39, CODE 128, ITF (Interleaved 2 OF 5) and Patch Codes: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, & T.
Primary FileNet Administrator, responsible for maintaining FileNet Content Manager, Image Manager, eProcess, and Kofax servers. Migrated California FileNet server into the Dallas server from a company Unitrin SLI purchased. I really enjoy spending time with my family, especially going around the state of Texas with my youngest daughter showing her rabbits in both 4-H and ARBA. It never ceases to amaze me to see the change in her from year to year in the competitions.
I have always had a love of numbers, so currently I'm working on expanding my horizons in python programming and MongoDB with doing data analytics of stocks, options, and futures data. I have seen why there is such a draw of people into data science as this has been a f un and exciting hobby.
